Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

MARAM is committed to high standards of academic integrity, ethical standards in publishing, and editorial accountability. It is expected from all those who are involved in the publication process to uphold responsible scientific practices.

The goal of the journal is to make sure that papers are judged objectively, and that the published work is of high enough standards of originality and methodology.

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy, originality, and integrity of their submitted work.

Authors should:

  • Submit original research.
  • Do not plagiarize.
  • The manuscript should not be under consideration elsewhere.
  • Report research findings honestly.
  • Cite your sources properly.
  • Make sure that all authors have made adequate contributions.
  • Get consent of all co-authors before submitting.
  • Declare any conflict of interest.
  • Indicate sources of funding.
  • Adhere to research ethics where applicable.
  • Give accurate information regarding the methodology and findings of the study.
  • Correct significant errors identified after publication.

It is also important for authors to make sure that their methodology is explained well, especially in case of multidisciplinary research, use of multiple datasets, analytical methods or research tools.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

The review process improves the quality and credibility of the journal by providing independent academic evaluations.

Reviewers should:

  • Evaluate manuscripts objectively.
  • Ensure that all the review process remains confidential.
  • Give constructive criticism and professional comments.
  • Review the research according to academic and methodological standards.
  • Highlight any related work that may have been overlooked.
  • Disclose any possible conflict of interest.

Reviewers should evaluate papers based on the scholarly merit of the manuscripts and not on the basis of who the author is or where he comes from.

It is the task of editors to maintain a fair and scholarly publishing process.

Editors should:

  • Deal with conflict of interests properly.
  • Editorial independence should be maintained.
  • Ethical issues should be dealt with in an ethical manner.

  • Respect authors’ professionalism and integrity.

Editorial choices should be independent of personal, commercial, or organizational bias.

Academic Integrity

Academic integrity is a core value at MARAM for reliable multidisciplinary research. Authors should present their research with honesty and responsibility.

The journal rejects any actions that might reduce the reliability or authenticity of scholarly research.

Unacceptable Practices Include:

Research misconduct is something that MARAM does not overlook. In case there are any complaints regarding a manuscript that is submitted for publication or already published, an appropriate investigation will be carried out.

The following actions may be taken by the journal:
